FAQ About the Baby Sitter Database
If I am a Nanny can I still register on the Database?
Yes, if you reside in a city that FCC does not have a local office
then you can still find Nanny clients via the Sitter Database. Nannies
looking for work in our home base Barrie, and Simcoe County should
apply directly to our Head Office location.
What type of qualifications do the Sitters usually have?
Most of the Sitters registered are mature College Students taking
Child or Health Care studies and want to work within their future line
of work. You may choose to select a Sitter by their age or
qualifications using the advanced search options.
What does the Star rating mean, and how does FCC rate the
Sitter?
The Sitters registered receive one or more stars for having the
following qualifications:
ECE or other Child or Healthcare experience – 1 *
Police Check - 2 *
CPR & First Aid – 3 *
None of the above listed qualifications- No Stars

What can I do to ensure the Sitters I hire will be qualified
and trustworthy?
It is important to interview and screen your potential sitter. Have a
personal interview with the potential sitter, if they have indicated
on the database that they have a valid Police check, or CPR
Certificate, ask to see the original. Ask for references and contact
them. Interview questions and tips can be found on our Website.
I own a home daycare should I register on the Sitter Database
or Daycare database?
We recommend Daycare owners register on the Daycare Database because
families looking specifically for home daycare will search there
first. The information required on the Daycare Registration is more
specific to a Daycare/Home Daycare setting.
Does it cost anything to register as a Sitter or Day Care? What
costs will I incur?
It is free for both Sitters and Daycares to register on our database.
The only costs you may incur is obtaining a CPR & first Aid
certificate, or Police Check. These checks are voluntary and are at
the expense of the caregiver. However to increase your employment
potential we strongly recommend that all caregivers registered on the
database apply for these checks.
How do I change my schedule or contact information?
Log into your Account and edit your profile. You can change your
password, your address, city and contact information. Sitters and
Daycares can edit your schedule availability.
I am a Parent and would like to post a job opening. How can I
do this?
You have unlimited access to the Sitters/Daycare database and all of
the contact information. You can create a generic job posting and
e-mail the Sitters/Daycares you wish to contact. This is an easy way
to generate interest in your job. Our database keeps the parents
contact information confidential, so you contact those you wish to
meet, and will not be bothered by calls or emails by job seekers.
